DIY Postcard Swap by Leada Wood

I have been doing IHanna's DIY Postcard swaps for a couple of years and they are always such fun to make and receive tiny art. Kind of like turning your mailbox into a gallery for a couple of weeks. I like getting mail!

This little Kokopeli started out as a Gelli print and I painted negatively around him. I really liked the way the design turned out.

Elephants are special to me as my mama collected them. She had lots of them and people would bring them from all over to give to her. 

This card also started life as a Gelli print. So you see there is life after Gelli, you just have to figure out ways to use them.

Leada with her best in Show painting at Big Country  Show in Colorado City last week end. It is a Batik technique painted with liquid acrylics.

This is a study of an old church in New Mexico built in 1875.  It is on the way to Ruidoso and has been paintied many times by artists.  It was done in my sketchbook with waterproof pen and watercolor.

I'm A Little Tea Cup by Leada Wood

I have just completed six weeks of Sketchbook Skool and it was Kool! There were so many wonderful instructors and artists from all over the world and we all learned from each other along the way. Danny Gregory, Koosje Koene,  Brenda Swenson, Andrea Joseph, Liz Steel, and Cathy Johnson were our fearless leaders. The whole focus was on seeing, and I can say after six weeks of sketching every day, I now see with new eyes.

Walton Workshop by Leada Wood

Okay Linda as requested here is a better photograph of us all. Wish I could photoshop his lovely painting in!  We missed you Sue and Carole and maybe next year Carole can join the fun and Sue will be back in the swing of things.
