HI Guys  I am back.  This is the frist painting I've done in the last 18 months.  FINALLY!
Needed to start somewhere and I choose the flowers in my studio.   Boy is it good to
paint again. 8-)
And yes, all is well again at my house.   Painting HOOOOOOOOOOO!

Four of the Caboose Watercolor Society were at the Liz Hill Figurative Workshop on the Wenmohs Ranch. In front is Sue Bagwell and back left to right is Kay Smith, Leada Wood and Carole Berry. You can stay at the ranch and paint your heart out! She has three day and weeklong retreats for artists.
Liz Hill was a great teacher, we had a different model each day and would draw in the mornings and paint in the afternoons. It is not your ordinary figurative workshop. Liz teaches you to draw with charcoal on prepared surfaces and then paint the figures in watercolors. It makes unusual and exciting figurative paintings. Caboose WC Society's next art show will be at the Heritage Museum in Big Spring, TX on Sept. 17 through Nov. 2! Subject is PETS.

Fork River, Arkansas 2

I couldn't stand it I repainted Fork River. Way to many trees in the last ones.

So starting out with gray base Watercolor and a Value plan I redid it. I did rearrange the landscape some and took out some trees for a better view.

It is still a fall picture so kept it that way.

I used the old and new Fork River for a demo in Shreveport.

I actually sold the new one! So I guess you can say I finally did it right. 8-) Carole

Our Name is up in Lights! Angel Show!!

We're on the marquis once again to all passersby that another watercolor show, this time of angels, is nigh. Oh come all ye faithful to our splendid show and gaze upon the angels on high!
We have worked on this show for over 1.5 years so prepare city of Big Spring, Texas, to be wowed once more!

Bar Ranch

Since all my angels are at the Museum I have started painting landscapes. It is Plein Air season. Leaves are just beginning to turn.

Not much rain so when they do turn they fall off the trees the next day.

This is a half sheet that I finished in the studio.

It is a ranch about 40 miles away. Bless with tons of ponds for the cattle. You can see part of it off of I-30 on the way to Dallas.

Some of Our Artists

Four of us met at Colorado City lake for a weekend painting retreat yesterday. Standing L to R:
Kay, Leada. Sitting L to R: Carole, Sue. We are minus Estelle and Linda. Meeting at Sue's lake cabin we had fun watching flash flooding and painting our butts off till the wee hours. Food and fellowship were in great supply amongst friends. After all we are just starving artists!

With all the rain in east Texas I found this tree. Had to paint it. Lots of glazes on everything. Was fun to do. Took a couple of days to finish.
And yes, it was cold when I took the picture to paint. Will have to hike back and see if the tree is alive this summer.
