Down at the Ranch

| Caboose Girls Four of the Caboose Watercolor Society were at the Liz Hill Figurative Workshop on the Wenmohs Ranch. In front is Sue Bagwell and back left to right is Kay Smith, Leada Wood and Carole Berry. The Bunkhouse is a fun artist retreat with world class instructors. To see a list of workshops click here: http://www.wenmohsranch.com/. Dena is a wonderful lady, great artist and awesome hostess. You can stay at the ranch and paint your heart out! She has three day and weeklong retreats for artists. Liz Hill was a great teacher, we had a different model each day and would draw in the mornings and paint in the afternoons. It is not your ordinary figurative workshop. Liz teaches you to draw with charcoal on prepared surfaces and then paint the figures in watercolors. It makes unusual and exciting figurative paintings. Four Butterflies - Big Spring Art Association - Sue Bagwell

This was entered in the Big Spring Art Association show at Howard College. YEAH.....I won 1st in Watercolor. It will also be in the "4 object" show at the Herritage Museum.
Linda had a great idea about everyone bringing one object and then we all had to create compositions from them. We could add anything we wanted, but could take nothing away.
I first had wine glasses in the background, but had to take them out because they were too distracting.
Linda, thanks for the challenge.

Sue Bagwell's web site
Hey guys, check out my web site. At the bottom of the first page I "linked" the Caboose blog. You guys all need to do this with your web sites and we need to link the Caboose site to all of ours. Diane, my personal computer guru, says that the more links you have and the more links you are connected to through other sites, the more powerful your site is through search engines.

Walton Watermedia Workshop Experience
Walton Watermedia Workshop 2010 is beginnning! Today we composed four images on 22x28 index paper and learned how to squirt-tex. The paper is very wet and allows the colors to do some fabulous things of their own accord. Here is Estelle front and center absorbing all the master has to show us and Sue on the sideline. Leada is behind the camera as usual :0) Doug Walton wetting his paper

The Same...but Different
I ran my paintings for the Kerrville show to Linda today and we went to see Sue's new show at the college. What a wonderful job she has done! The title of her show is The Same...but Different: An Artist's Approach. If you can't get to Big Spring in person the next best thing is to view it online; http://www.suebagwellart.com/. Here we are in front of one her paintings, left to right: Sue Bagwell, Linda Rupard, Leada Wood.
