
This is watercolor on Yupo paper. Sprayed & poured then negative painting behind the figure I found in the clutter. Hope this is easier to see Girls?

11x7.5 watercolor negative painting exercise where you draw one level of tree and branches, then another and another. Paint each succeeding level a different color to indicate depth. Here there are 5 planes from foreground to background. We learned this when we took Linda Kemp's class in Lubbock a few years back. It really teaches you how to discern depth. At the end when dry I splattered paint to suggest leaves.
A year ago this demo, 7.5x11, was done for WetCanvas' Watercolor forum in the Learning Zone. First you get a large brush, stand on a chair and squeeze drops from a round brush to fall onto the paper laying flat. Then develop around the flowers, foliage, stems and branches in layers painting negative shapes.Caboose Group Exhibitions 2024 TBA
