Cozy Kitty by Leada Wood©

Cozy Kitty by Leada Wood ©

This cute kitty lives down the road from Studio Twenty at Lattie's Mexican Imports. This chiminera sets on her counter with Tootles laying, waiting for Lattie to wiggle his feather toy at the top. Then he springs into action and it is Play Time! This painting has been in process for a while as I have been side tracked with torn paper collage paintings, but I finally got er done!

This is a watercolor with ink. Painted from my sketchbook and a photo I had taken last year on our trip to CA.

Springtime in Texas by Leada Wood

Springtime in Texas by Leada Wood ©
When we were out treking looking at wildflowers in the hill country we came across a beautiful longhorn just laying in the sunshine enjoying life. I had to snap a few photos, of course, and now I have gotten around to painting this Texas treasure. This painting is 14x28 on Arches paper using transparent watercolor.

Watercolor's Still Wet on This One!

Here is our first post and what better subject than a "Poppy Meadow", hot off the press, 10 minutes to draw and 1.5 hours to paint this 10x14 inch beaut. I used Kilimanjaro 140 lb cold press block, Daniel Smith colors. Painting wet on dry with a #8 synthetic round is what was used. It is good to see some color and hope Spring is right around the corner!
