7x5 watercolor winter landscape done a few seasons ago that is now SOLD.
All my artist friends, especially the Caboose gals, know landscapes are not my forte'.

Hollyhock: "Black Tie"

30x22 watercolor on Kilimanjaro 140 lb cold press paper with Daniel Smith paints.  I grew several black hollyhocks outside my studio door but no blooms this year thanks to the drought.  In my photo the bloom is more dark blood red, but with this one I've gone to the dark side and have pushed color, exaggerating where necessary.

Orange Marmalade Kitty

5.5x9 watercolor.  Using a black and white photo of a grey kitty, I made this fellow into an orange tabby. 

Black Beauty hollyhocks

30x22 watercolor on Arches 140 lb cold press done a few years ago and sold to my friend Debie Pirkle. Just last week I reframed this for her in deep dark browns and it is quite stunning on her wall!
