House Down the Street

9x12 watercolor using brush only of a southwestern style house down the street in New Mexico.  With its red tile roof and surround pines, spruce and evergreen trees, it is very attractive.  This house portrait shows its white stucco well against the surrounding landscape.

Signal Mountain with Skull Linda Rupard

This is one of the paintings I  did for our Old Masters show at the Heritage Museum.
Show will be through May .  Reception is Friday 5:00  to  7:00 hope lots of our blog friends can come on down to see us & our work at the museum.   My old Master artist that inspired me for this painting was Georgie O'Keeffe.

Last summer I was out plein air with friends around the rivers of Arkansas. Interesting place.

This is the Fork River in watercolor.

So my quest is to be able to paint landscapes in watercolor.

Bar Ranch

Since all my angels are at the Museum I have started painting landscapes. It is Plein Air season. Leaves are just beginning to turn.

Not much rain so when they do turn they fall off the trees the next day.

This is a half sheet that I finished in the studio.

It is a ranch about 40 miles away. Bless with tons of ponds for the cattle. You can see part of it off of I-30 on the way to Dallas.

Walk by the Creek

I painted this at our reunion last weekend.

We ate, talked and painted Friday and Sat.

Had fun trying to do a landscape in watercolor.

I've done them in oils for years but it is hard to do in watercolor for me.

This is 11x14 done on Arches paper for our Legends and Legacies show. I tried to depict the love of the dog for his master after a hard day at the ranch. Where I live dogs and horses are still a cowboys best friends as they live and work together every day.
