Squirt texting

Here are two of my art students with their latest work.  It was an exciting process and fun for them! They first drew a shoe and then outlined it with crayon, next the fun began as they picked their colors and wet the paper and squirt paint on the paper. When it was dry they had to decide whether to leave the shoe with the underpainting or the background as the underpainting. Both decided to leave the background. They then proceeded to paint their shoes and finish their painting. This is an exciting and fun process for any age!

Escargot

Escargo by Leada Wood (c) 2010 All Rights Reserved
Here is a fun little piece I did on illustration board. It is only 5x7, and I used squirt texting to make the under painting, then painted negatively around the snail.  I decided to out line the whole snail in white to add more white back into the painting.

Walton Watermedia Workshop Experience

This is a work in progress by Douglas Walton.  He has used radial gradation, squirt texting, and is now resolving the painting by separating the forground from the background and tucking the positive and negative shapes. Everyday is an adventure!

Walton Watermedia Workshop Experience

Today is Wednesday...half way through our workshop. It's been exciting and fun!  Today we started another new painting doing radial gradation and squirt texting on wet paper one after the other. it is amazing to see the results of these techniques. We went to the college and had lunch in the gallery where Sue's show is hanging and Al's BBQ had lunch there for us.  Douglas then critiqued the show, which was enlightening, as well as gave us tips about framing and matting our paintings. You can view the show online at http://www.suebagwellart.com/
