"Under His Wing" by Leada Wood

"Under His Wing" by Leada Wood (C)2010
All Rights Reserved

This was my last painting that I had started for the Angels We Have Heard On High show but alas it didn't get finished in time. I just finished it yesterday and thought I would share it with you anyway. This work is 12X24 inches on crescent illustration board and has layers of texture and painted with liquid acrylics. I used real feathers for the wing, glued one at a time! I embelished the raised stars with embossing medium. There is a lost and found message throughout the painting. Hope you can make our show and see all our heavenly angels!

When The Trumpet Sounds

When The Trumpet Sounds by Leada Wood (c) 2010 All Rights Rerserved

Yes I am still painting angels! One to go but I must take them to the museum tomorrow. It has been a fun process and I can't wait to see all our heavenly paintings hanging together! This is transparent watercolor on Arches 15x22, with gold leaf added for her glory. Yes I drew everyone of the Fleu-De-Les in the background, they don't show too well in this photo as it is low resolution. I want to do this angel again with a stain glass effect in the background. Seems like I am never ready to give up working on our themed shows, the ideas just keep coming and I keep asking my self What If?

The Keeper

The Keeper, watercolor by Leada Wood (c) 2010 All Rights Reserved
This is another angel that I started at our retreat. This painting is a 12x20 transparent watercolor on Crescent Illustration Board with gold leaf used for the glory around his head. He also will be in the Caboose Watercolor Society's Parade of Angels. I can't wait to see everybody's angels hanging together on that blue sky wall at the museum!

Circle Of Life

Circle of Life, mixed media by Leada Wood  (c) 2010 All Rights Reserved
Helloooo everybody! I am finally getting around to posting some of my angels. This is the one I started at our retreat and made the stamp for. I painted the circle and corners with liquid acrylic, but the angel is watercolor. This painting is 20 x 20 inches on Crescent Illustration Board and will be part of the upcoming Caboose Watercolor Society angel show.

This is a watercolor collage. Quarter sheet. It will be in the Big Spring Museum show for Christmas.

last May.

Unseen Servant

1/2 sheet watercolor on 140 lb Fabriano hot press paper, American Journey paints. Drawn from a ceramic antique store angel in Tyler, TX (from my photo) in Jan. 2009 and painted last week.
Carole and I met up there after my workshop and had fun finding the junk stores and enjoying the B&B food.

Guardian Angel

Hi to all, I've been working on Angels for the show. How is everyone doing with their angels?

This is a WC with gold and silver watercolor.
Fun to do.
My main problem is keeping them for the show.
People wander in my studio and buy them. So have taken to putting them in the closet till the show.
Size is little over a quarter sheet.

Icon Angel by Sue Bagwell

Yeah! I think I am getting the hang of it. This Icon Angel was painted on 100# illustration board. First I drew it in pencil, then I used Matt Gel Medium, then painted it with watercolor.
