11x7.5 watercolor negative painting exercise where you draw one level of tree and branches, then another and another. Paint each succeeding level a different color to indicate depth. Here there are 5 planes from foreground to background. We learned this when we took Linda Kemp's class in Lubbock a few years back. It really teaches you how to discern depth. At the end when dry I splattered paint to suggest leaves.

This is very interesting Kay. I am going to try this exercise, I can see how it would help with my negative painting too. Do you have Linda's dvd? I have thought about ordering it since I missed that workshop. Are you going to Judy Bett's in October in Lubbock?
This is nice. It makes me cold. Like winter.
Mysterious , good job
Linda
Lots of depth.
Linda
No, I don't have the DVD, and am not going to Judi Betts (studied with her in 1994-5 in Odessa).
Just think how much more Judy will have to teach since then! I can't wait!
Thank you for sharing
This fabulous work with us
Good creations
